About Splintercat

All of the photos in this gallery were taken with an Olympus E-300 and one of three Zuiko lenses: 11-22mm, 14-45mm and 40-150mm. The E-300 has now been replaced by the E-330, but both are excellent choices for hikers since they don't have a pentaprism on top of the body. That makes them extremely compact for carrying in a belt pack. The body is also made from cast aluminum, making for a very light load. I rarely take a photo without a tripod, and have used the very affordable Slik U212 Deluxe tripod for many years (actually, several, since I eventually destroy them over the course of 2-4 years). These aren't the lightest tripods out there, but the Slik "square" leg design is extremely durable and stable in a outdoors environment. Last but not least, all of my images are sorted and adjusted using Photoshop CS on a Mac platform. I use a couple of plug-ins, but most of the adjustments are standard to Photoshop CS.
