Although I love to hike and do a lot of "day trips", I haven't backpacked. (Doing the "High Sierra Loop" for a week or so with a day pack and reaching camp where hot showers and meals awaited us each day doesn't count! :-) These "Backcountry Betty" presentations at REI sound interesting and fun. Anyone read the book? What are your thoughts?

Backcountry Betty: Roughing it in Style
Meet author Jennifer Worick during this frank and funny evening. She
will be reading particularly sassy sections from Backcountry Betty:
Roughing It in Style, a new kind of guide from Skipstone. Learn how to
trick out your fleece, zest up your camp food and campsite, entertain
in the wild, get wild in the wild, and cope with every hygiene issue
imaginable. Jennifer will even demonstrate how to pack the perfect
backpack, loading up with products that do double duty. The evening
with conclude with a frank Q&A and book signing."
