Table Mountain had about 70 people on the wonderous flat summit today (5/18) and so it is more than ready for you to take a hike.

Most people parked at the Bonneville Hot Springs resort and took the connector trail over to the road by Carpenter Lake and then up the road to the PCT.

Once on the PCT there are two options (or both). The East Side - Heartbreak Ridge Trail has been very recently cleared of all brush and overhanging branches and is in good shape. Good shape that is up past the lower saddle (with great views up to the summit and into the slide area of Table). Then the redirected trail heads west (almost horizontal) until you do a steep climb and exit onto a Talus field. You go straight up the talus field (now completely clear of snow) and exit back into the wood. The woods up there (about 300 ft below the summit) still have snow in them so the trail is hidden but steps in the snow can be kicked between no-snow areas. Best to go up the East Ridge because coming down that talus field would be no fun. The summit itself near the west side still has about 3ft of snow but easily traveled to the West Ridge. The West ridge, while rocky, is clear of snow and you just have to watch you step all the way down to the PCT and then head back to your car.

There has been some recent (new) small Spring slides from the very top of the summit ridge overlooking the slide area so be careful when going over there to make sure you are not on an undercut because it is a long way down.
